1943 Scarce Book Soviet Art In Wartime USSR Embassy

Soft cover book or Information Bulletin Special Supplement published by the Embassy of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics Washington, D.C. February, 1943 titled: Soviet Art In Wartime. Short foreword by Dmitri Shostakovich. Book begins with a short introductory chapter titled The Artist and the War which was a summary of speeches made at the Moscow Anti-fascist Meeting of Representatives of Soviet Arts. Book is divided into 5 categories of arts: Music, Drama-Dance, Literature, Cinema, Graphic Arts with each main category further divided into various subjects and artists. Well illustrated with both photos and illustrations. Great historical reference material and scarce book I would think. x in size with 115 pages. Covers have some wear to spine area especially, some discolorations and few stains but not too bad. Interior is quite decent but does have a little waviness or wrinkling to bottom area of pages mostly in last half of book that looks like must have had a little dampness or moisture issue. Not mint, but overall quite decent with no major damage like tears, holes, etc. TERMS OF SALE – PLEASE READ ALL CAREFULLY- It is all important and will save problems later. No Reserve Method of Payment: Paypal Shipping (for continental U.S):$3.50 media – Buyer pays all shipping costs, plus insurance if applicable. Insurance: Insurance fee may be added if buyer requests it and is recommended on expensive or fragile items but insurance will be left to buyers wishes. Insurance cost will be based on final cost of item. You can look up the insurance cost rates on items shipped within the US on the USPS web site. Buyer assumes full responsibility for any loss or damage on unisured items. NOTICE TO INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS: Every international shipment must go by air mail and over 4 lbs will have to go Global priority. That will greatly impact heavier items that don’t have a high value. You will end up paying many times more for the shipping than the item in some cases. Please be aware of this possibility and make sure you have all shipping questions answered well before the end of the auction or you might be in for a considerable shock. I am aware that the high shipping rates may keep international buyers from bidding on some items, but don’t want you to be unaware of the situation. Thank you. International Bidders terms and shipping: We do ship internationally but the cost can be considerably more and will be figured at conclusion of sale based on destination, weight, and method of shipping. It has also become necessary for me to include the following instructions to all overseas buyers. I cannot do anything about the customs regulations of your country, but when I fill out the customs sheet for shipping the items will be marked ‘other’ and the actual final bid price of the auction will be what is declared as the value. PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN THAT as I will not be able to comply. I am sorry if this causes a problem at your end, and I want as much business as possible, but if you are not able to agree to these terms, please do not bid. ATTENTION: PLEASE READ. Some last important instructions. — Please do not request that we stop an auction or remove an item from an auction once it has started. The only reason I will ever stop an auction early is if I feel it is necessary for reasons such as if I made a serious mistake in the listing, or during the course of auction lost or damaged the item, etc. I do not stop auctions early at bidders request for the purpose of selling the item before the end of auction. It is against Ebay policy, plus not fair to other potential bidders, and I will not consider request to sell an item early for any reason. I also will not switch to a Buy it Now option on an item if it is not listed with that as an option, so please do not ask me if I would consider doing so. I am very happy to email for purpose of answering questions about the item for sale and giving more details if necessary, but I will very likely NOT reply to any email requests to do any of the above mentioned requests. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. Feel free to email with any questions about the item or terms and conditions. Thank you for looking at this item and we look forward to being of service to you.
